Cannabis Bags material Guide
VMPET: Vacuum metallized polyester film. This type of film refers to polymer substrates that have been vacuum-deposited with a thin layer of metal, typically aluminum, for flexible packaging applications. The metallization enhances barrier properties while maintaining flexibility.
LDPE: Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) is a soft, elastic and lightweight thermoplastic material. Its key features include low-temperature flexibility, excellent toughness, and corrosion resistance. It is usually made into a hemp packaging flat bag through a PA/PE composite structure, and is suitable for holding some large-capacity hemp products.
PET: A sturdy and high-temperature-resistant polymer. The biaxially stretched PET film, due to its excellent strength, rigidity and heat resistance, is widely used in packaging composite materials. It is usually combined with other films to enhance the heat sealing property and barrier performance. It is a commonly used composite material in cannabis packaging.
AL: Aluminum Foil (AL or ALU): A thin-gauge aluminum foil (typically 6–12 microns) laminated to plastic films, providing superior barrier properties against oxygen, aroma, and water vapor. Although aluminum foil is considered the most effective barrier material, it is progressively being substituted by metallized films (e.g., MET-PET, MET-OPP, and VMPET) due to cost-effectiveness considerations.
PE: Polyethylene, a thermoplastic polymer made from ethylene, is highly puncture and tear-resistant, unaffected by extreme temperatures, lacks barrier properties, and offers good clarity.
