Resealable bags have become an essential tool for packaging in our daily lives. As more and more people prioritize the quality and hygiene of their food, these bags have gained rapid popularity as a cost-effective and convenient solution for packaging and storage. They are now the preferred choice in the market due to their distinct advantages. Resealable bags are widely used across various industries, including sugar, medical devices and drugs, textiles, mechanical parts, and electrical components. These bags are made from special types of plastic called LDPE and LLDPE using advanced processes such as blown film extrusion and heat sealing. This makes them perfect for repeated sealing. Additionally, they come in different styles like zipper bags, ziplock bags or slider bags, etc.
Despite the availability of diverse types and specifications of resealable bags in the market, product labeling does not consistently indicate whether they are suitable for food contact or non-food contact applications. Only those resealable bags characterized by raw materials certified for food contact safety should be utilized for food packaging purposes.

They can be classified
by material:
Single layer
Double layers
by closure:
Zipper ( single-reinforced, wide-reinforced, double-reinforced )
Slider
by purpose:
Food packaging
Non-food packaging

How to identify the quality of resealable bags:
Visual inspection: Firstly, there should be no bubbles, punctures, or breakage. Secondly, for bags with printed graphics, the clarity of the printing should be visually checked. If the pattern is unclear or the overprinting error is too large, it indicates a certain level of safety risk.
Adhesion of printing: The printed graphics on the bags, can be rub several times by hand to see if the printed pattern fades. A good self-sealing bag should have a strong adhesion of the printed pattern and should not easily fade or lose color.
Check the tightness of the zipper closure: Consumers can manually open and close the zipper multiple times to check the tightness and repeated use of the zipper. Both too loose or too tight can affect its use.
Odor check: Since many consumers use resealable bags to seal food, it is important to carefully smell the bag before purchasing to check for any pungent organic solvent odor. This odor may come from inferior ink printing or the material additives of the plastic bag itself. High-quality resealable bags should be odorless. It is recommended that consumers choose products with minimal or no printing when using for packaging food.
