The core material of the PE plastic zipper is high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), which has characteristics such as flexibility, low-temperature resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance. Before production, the following treatments are required:
The PE particles need to be dried at 60-80℃ to avoid moisture affecting the extrusion quality. According to customer requirements, color masterbatches or functional additives (such as anti-static agents, slip enhancers, etc.) can be added. The co-extrusion process is used to simultaneously form the female and male chain teeth of the zipper. The PE melt is extruded through a precise mold into a continuous structure of female and male chain teeth, with common types including "Single Track", "Double Track", or "Child Resistant Zipper" designs to ensure a tight fit. The extruded zipper is quickly cooled and shaped in a water cooling tank or cold air system to prevent deformation. The finished products produced by the automatic zipper closing machine are boxed to avoid knotting or stretching deformation. After that, the packed zippers will be sent to a dedicated drying room for drying to prevent the possibility of water or moisture remaining on the zippers.
After the zipper is finished, the following tests will be conducted:
Sealing test: After bagging, use the inflation method or vacuum method to test the airtightness of the closure after the zipper is closed.
Tensile test: Performed in accordance with the corresponding testing standards to assess durability.
Food safety certification: If used for food packaging, it must comply with relevant standards.
